Hexagon Associates was formed in 2014 to serve the emerging needs of global clients that are increasingly involved with digital intellectual property exploitation.  Through our experience, Hexagon Associates has assisted clients in managing and protecting their intellectual property, fully realizing their monetary values through royalty compliance audits as well as ensuring that royalty obligations are accurately accounted and distributed.  Amongst the industries we serve are music, movies, videos, broadcasting, webcasting, software, toys, books, fashion/apparel and automotive.

The Hexagon Team:
Nat Annamalai
Nat is the Managing Principal of Hexagon Associates LLC, building this successful professional services firm with his team from the ground up. His responsibilities cover marketing, engagement management, advisory and administrative functions. He continues to be retained as a key advisor to content owners, managers, distributors and digital service providers in negotiating agreements, compliance settlements as well as business advisory services. Hexagon represents content owners and managers such as recorded music labels, music publishers and rights and collections agencies in consulting, audit and processing services.​
Nat has more than 25 years’ experience in the music and media industry. Before founding Hexagon he spent almost 11 years at The Harry Fox Agency, acting as the lead business person overseeing the collection of royalty revenues, royalty examination settlements, and business development and process resolution with licensees and publishers. Prior to that he has worked with GES Exposition Services, Caribiner International, Inc., Polygram Holding, Inc., and Thorn EMI Inc. Nat graduated from the University of Delaware with a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. Nat also completed the Executive Development Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Vivian Chung
Vivian is the Operation & Projects Manager with Hexagon Associates with over 10 years of experience in the music industry. Prior to joining Hexagon Associates, Vivian worked at EMI Music for 8 years in various roles. Due to her strong analytical skills and accounting background she was promoted to Manager, Mechanical Licensing at EMI.  During this time, she developed reports to identify and analyze areas of potential inconsistencies, which successfully helped the licensing team reduce copyright liability by 30% in the first quarter.  She implemented new ways to streamline the licensing process, which helped the licensing team complete 6 years’ worth of video streaming backlog by 95% within 6 months.  Prior to this role, she was a Senior Royalty Audit Analyst.  She assisted in the implementation of new accounting system, and also managed and generated over 200 third party statements for Caroline Records.  Vivian holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. 
John Cedeño
John is the Audit & Advisory Services Manager with Hexagon Associates with over 9 years of experience working in Royalties.  He develops audit plans, conducts research and program evaluations and prepares reports of findings.
Prior to joining Hexagon Associates, John spent more than 7 years working at Direct Brands, formerly known as BMG Columbia House.  There he was responsible for reporting Music and DVD Royalties.  He also has experience with Mechanical and Artist Royalties, reporting to the American Federations of Musicians and major publishers in the music industry.  John also gained experience in book royalties after Direct Brands acquired Bookspan, a direct to consumer mail order retail Book Club.  John holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Queens College, City University of New York.
William Daniels

William is a seasoned royalty analyst with over 12 years of experience in digital supply chain management and mechanical royalty processing.  His background also includes several director level roles in client services and product development project management for several international organizations.  Prior to joining Hexagon, William managed Bug Digital, the digital distribution division of the publisher Bug Music. There, he facilitated the delivery of digital media, managed assets and oversaw label and publishing royalty processing projects for the entire division.

When Bug Music was acquired by BMG Rights in 2011, he moved into the data integrations project management area as a data specialist responsible for the ingestion of all U.S. catalog data into the catalog administration, licensing, royalties and publishing systems.  William has acquired a comprehensive knowledge of several supply chain delivery systems and is adept at using many of the industry standard repertoire management systems and royalty processing engines. 

 

William holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts and Documentary Film Production from SUNY Empire State College and a Master’s Degree in Project Management from New York University.

Lawrence Offsey, CPA
Lawrence is a CPA and a highly accomplished Senior Finance and Operational Executive with over thirty years experience. He has consulted for over fifteen years to many companies ranging from small start up entities to multinational Fortune 200 companies. Larry has molded the finance and operational areas in each entity he has worked with to improve bottom line performance, streamline systems and create efficiency to better support the organization. 
Larry is a CPA licensed in New York State with an MBA from St John’s University in Finance and Taxation. He was an Associate Professor at Long Island University, teaching finance and accounting courses, for five years. Larry is also active in a charity foundation to spread educational programs and music to schools through the National Academic Achievement Award Foundation.
